REGULATIONS OF THE COMPETITION

Art.1
The competition is opened to musicians from all over the word.
Art.2
The performance will be held in Gussago (Brescia- Italy) from the 4 to the 7 December 2008 in the ‘Aula Magna’ of the “Fondazione Richiedei” in Gussago; in the ‘Camillo Togni’ hall in Gussago andthe ‘Auditorium San Barnaba’ in Brescia.

The application form, as per the enclosed model, must be sent with birth certificate (or personal declaration of date of birth) and receipt of the bank draft within the 10November 2008

Section:
Soloists
?Cat. A :up to 8 years, including those born in 2000;– free program lasting max 7 min.
?Cat.B : to 11 years, including those born in 1997 – free program lasting max 10 min.
?CatC : to 14 years, including those born in 1994 – free program lasting max 12 min. and obligatory piece.
?CatD : to 17 years, including those born in 1991 – free program lasting max 15 min. and obligatory piece.
?CatE : up to 25 years, including those born in 1983– free program lasting max 20 min. and obligatory piece.

Section:
Four-hands Duo
·CatG: up to 11 years, including those born in 1997 – free program lasting max 7 min.
·CatH: up to 15 years, including those born in 1993 – free program lasting max 15min.
·CatI:to 20 years, including those born in 1988 – free program lasting max 20min.
·CatL:without any limit of age – program as below:
Preliminary test:
First time of sonata chosen from: Clementi, Mozart, Schubert, and free program lasting max 10 min.
Final test:
Free program lasting max 25 min. including an important piece chosen from:
Faurè, Debussy, Ravel or Satie (it is forbidden to repeat pieces of the preliminary test).

Section:
Two Pianos Duo - Chamber Music

CatM:without any limit of age – program as below:
Any formation from two to nine elements, with or without conductor.
Pieces must be chosen only from classical period
Preliminary test: Free program lasting max 15 min.
Final test: Free program lasting max 25 min (it is forbidden to repeat pieces of the preliminary test). Pieces composed of different movements have to be played entirely.

Art.6
At the beginning of every audition, a copy of played pieces and the identifying card will have to be presented to theof the Jury commission.
Art.7
The Jury’s decisions are unquestionable and final. No appeals will be considered.
The points will be given out of a hundred.
Art.8
The program can be played entirely or partially, as the Jury Commission decides.
Art.9
Competitors cannot claim economic rights for any Competition performance, or for the Prize Winners Concert, otherwise the award will be revoked; there will not be any compensation for any television shot.
Art.10
Members of the Jury must not be relatives nor have any affinity with any of the candidates; furthermore, they must not have had private teaching relations with them during the last two years preceding the beginning of the stages. The members of the Jury who have at present, or have had in the passed two years preceding the beginning of the stages public teaching relations with one or more candidates cannot take part in the discussion, nor express their vote on the candidate’s performance, i.e. they must abstain themselves from voting.
Art.11
Each Competitor must declare name and address of his teacher.
Art.12
In the case of ex-aequo money awards will be divided in equal parts.
Art.13
Money awards and special awards will be exclusively given during the’ Concert. Prize winners will lose the right to receive their prize if they fail to take part in the Winners’ Concert, consequently the Award will be revoked.
Art.14
The Jury will award only one Interpretation Special Award to the Outright (Absolute) First Prizes.
Art.15
The Award Concert of F, L, Mwill be held in a date that willfixed by mutual consent; for this performance there will be a repayment.
Art.16
The last years ‘Firsts’ of F, L, M,categories cannot present themselves again in thecategories.
Art.17
Next year, the ‘Firsts’ of other categories, must not present themselves again in the same categories.
Art.18
The Competitors have to present original or transcribed pieces from the same author; but the Concourse Artistic Direction has the possibility to value other transcriptions as long as they are written from famous composer.

Section:
Piano and Orchestra

CatF: entrance fee: 150 euros
without any limit of age – program as below:
Preliminary test: Free program lasting max 30 min. including: a prelude and a fugue of J. S. Bach, a study ofF. Chopin or F. Liszt and the first time of a classical sonata.
Semi-final test: Free program lasting max 40 min. (The classical sonata can be played entirely)
(it is not possible to repeat pieces of the preliminary test).
Final test: Concert execution played with the Orchestra “ directed by M° Roberto Misto at ‘Auditorium San Barnaba’ - Brescia
Concert for piano and orchestra chosen from:
- W.A.Mozart:K 466 or K 488 concert
- Beethoven:N° 3 concert or ° 5 concert
-F. Chopin:N° 1 concert op 11 or N° 2 op 21 concert
Awards
To the 1 absolute prize of category F : diploma, plate of Gussago town, a scholarship of euro 4.000,00 and a concert

To the 2 prize: diploma, medal and a scholarship of euro 1.500,00

To the prize: diploma, medal and a scholarship of euro 500,00

Scholarships are offered by Togni’s family

Awards:
cat. A-B-C-D-E-G-H-I
All the Competitors of A-B-C-D-E-G-H-I categories will be awarded with a 1 classified diploma and a medal if their score will be not less than 95/100.
At first of every category, mentioned before, a diploma and a plate ofGussago’s common and scholarships given as below:

All the Competitors whit a score not inferior to 90/100 will be awarded with a 2 classified diploma and a medal.
All the Competitors whit a score not inferior to 85/100 will be awarded with a3 classified diploma and a medal.
All the Competitors whit a score not inferior to 80/100 will be awarded with a 4 classified diploma and a medal.
All other Competitors can ask for a participation diploma.
The teacher who reaches the most high score adding the points of his awarded students, will be given a gold medal offered by Provincia di Brescia.
The teacher with the most of 1st classified students a "Vittoria Alata" Prize offered by the Assessorato alla Cultura del Comune di Brescia( the Culture office of Brescia Municipality) .

Awards:
Cat. L
To the 1 classified: scholarship of 1.100,00 euros, diploma, plate and a concert.
To the 2 classified: scholarship of 600,00diploma, and a medal.
To the 3 classified: scholarship of 300,00 euros, diploma and a medal.
Cat. -M
To the 1 classified: scholarship of 1.100,00 euros, diploma, plate and a concert
To the 2 classified: scholarship of 600,00 euros, diploma and a medal
To the 3 classified: scholarship of 300,00 euros, diploma and a medal.

Special Awards
Concert - during the concert’s season of “Luca Marenzio” Conservatory of Brescia N.B. the concert will be played in a date (to be decided) at Auditorium San Barnaba.
Concert “Festival Notes d’Argonne” in Francia
Concert in Palazzolo (Brescia).
Concert in Gussago on “Concerti di primavera” season, thanks to administration’s council.
Concert in Calcinate (Bergamo) thanks to administration's council,
Concert in Cellatica (Brescia) thanks to administration's council
Concert inSommacampagna (Verona) thanks to Discanto Accademia d’Arti
Concert Festival “Sconfinarte”

To the best interpreter of L.V.Beethoven sonata: scholarship of 1.000,00 euros in memory of M° Alfredo Casella, offered by° Lya De Barberiis

At the best interpreter of L. Manenti: scholarship of 258,00 euros offered byManenti.
At the best interpreter of F. Margola: scholarship of 258,00 euros offered by Alfredo Margola.
A scholarship of Euro 500,00 euros is offered by Lucia Maggi to the best female in the categories A-B-C.
At the youngest concurrent classified: “Guido Colombi” a cup.
At the best interpreter of J. S. Bach: “Paola Prati” plate
At the best interpreter of J. Brahms: a plate offered by “Associazione Mousa”
At the best interpreter of C. Togni: a plate offered by “Associazione Mousa”
At the best interpreter of F. Liszt: a plate offered by “Associazione Mousa”

Gussago is reachable:
By railway: getting out of the Brescia railway station you can find the bus terminal for Gussago on the pedestrian lane in front of it. There is a bus every 30 minutes. You get out of it in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, in Gussago and ask for “Fondazione Richiedei” via Richiedei 16.
By motorway: from Milan, direction Venice, exit at Ospitaletto; from Venice direction Milan, Brescia west exit direct. Lake Iseo.
